A Valentine Tutorial

Saturday, February 14, 2009

Need a unique way to tell your Valentine "I Love You"? Here is a great alternative to the traditional Valentine's Day card. It's easy, quick, and incredibly cute when you make and place a whole bunch in a basket for your Valentine to enjoy! My hubby found a surprise basket in his car this morning filled w/ these!
You will need:
fabric scraps
fusible fleece
scissors
iron
craft, fabric, or hot glue
wire (I used 22 guage floral)
white ribbon
paper for your love notes

Cut out a circle template approx. 3 1/2" in diameter. Trace circle onto your fusible fleece and cut out.

Iron fusible fleece onto the wrong side of your fabric.

Cut out your fabric circle.

Cut a piece of wire slightly shorter than the width of your circle and glue onto the middle.

Cut a piece of ribbon the length of your wire and glue on top.

Write or print your love notes and cut into strips to place into your fabric fortune cookie!

Fold your circle in half along the length of the wire.

Bend the ends of your cookie downward and push the middle with your thumb. Shape to get the desired look.

Place your love note inside and leave a tail hanging out for your Valentine to see! You're Done! Now go make a bunch more!

My hubby gave me 18 of these! Isn't he sweet! Enjoy spending the day lovin' on your Valentine!
