Happy 4th of July: We're heading out

Hope everyone enjoys a restful and wonderful 4th of July weekend! Have fun at all those picnics and barbeques with family and friends! I hope you take a moment to reflect on what this day means.

As for me and my family, we are heading out! That's right, at around 2am it is "Orlando or bust" for us! The hubby and I aren't coffee drinkers so we will be strung out on Red Bull and AMP!! Pray for safe travel for us and that the kids sleep well.


I am just about done packing. I hope I remembered everything. I'm always afraid of forgetting something and I usually do. Here are a few of the necessities:

~pile of assorted flip flops (a girl's gotta match ya know)
~Nikes (for those long days at the Magic Kingdom)
~bikinis (for loungin' at the pool gettin' some Florida rays)
~lots of shorts and tanks (100 degree weather= no need for jeans or sweaters...prepare to sweat!)
~camera bag & gear (for capturing those unforgettable moments of my kids 1st Disney experiences!)
~hair brush & flat iron (gotta have sleek hair)
~sunglasses (duh)
~sunscreen (no sun is the best sun but if you're gonna be in it be protected)
~after-sun aloevera gel (in case you don't protect yourself quite enough..oops!)
~mascara & lipgloss (with a sun-kissed glow that's all ya really need)
~2009 Complete Disney World guide (pretty self-explanatory)
~GPS (so we actually make it there!)

The Countdown Begins....We're Headed to the Most Magical Place on Earth!!

Yep, one week from today we will be headed to DISNEYWORLD!! We are thrilled about our upcoming trip and will be busy this week packing, planning, and cleaning house (nothing worse than returning from vacay to a messy home!). The kids are soooo excited and I'm pretty sure that Todd and I are just as excited as they are! I haven't been to Disneyworld in almost 20 years (I was 10 and I'll be 30 in the fall). I can't wait to see everything again and to see the faces of my kids when they take it all in! Little Ella will be sitting this one out since she's too little to understand or enjoy what Disney has to offer. We will miss her but we know she will be well taken care of by some close friends while we are away (don't worry, she will get presents!). If any of you have any tips that would make our visit more enjoyable please feel free to share. We are planning to pick up a guide book or two to help us along the way. Any suggestions?

What a Gift!!

Todd and I will soon be celebrating our 8th wedding anniversary (May 19th)and we've been trying to come up with something fun to do...a quick getaway. Well imagine my surprise when I woke up this morning and checked my email to find that I had won a weeks stay at the Wyndham Cypress Palms Resort in Orlando Florida!! Talk about shocked...I was floored! We will be staying in a two bedroom suite with a full kitchen and living room! How cool!


The trip is in July and we're still working out the planning details but we are ecstatic! Funny thing is that when I entered this giveaway I had a strange feeling that this trip was meant for us. I chalked it up to just "wishful thinking" but all I can say is God is sooo good!
