The Whipping Cat

Wednesday, March 4, 2009

There is a story I remember reading as a child called "The Whipping Boy". It is the story of a boy who serves as a stand-in to recieve the punishments that a young prince has earned. Well, apparently my 3 year old daughter has heard it too. Why do I say this? Because today when I told her to go to "time out" I found this...

Poor Katie the beloved stuffed kitty! There she sat quietly serving the sentence she did not earn. And where was Halle?! Playing contentedly w/ her big brother. When I asked her why she wasn't in "time-out" she very matter-of-factly replied "it's ok mommy...Katie's in time out." I couldn't help but chuckle to myself!

  1. Aww, what a cute story. Kids say the most interesting things sometimes, you wonder where they get it from. My son read that book in class this year so I still have the story fresh in my mind.

  2. Kids do the darndest things. What a great story thanks for sharing

  3. Oh, gosh, let's have a book burning! I can't let mine get hold of that idea!
