Today is my little boy's 7th birthday! ~sigh~ That just sounds like such a big number! 7! I can't believe it! To celebrate his big day Hayden wanted to have a sleepover with a few of his closest friends. Sounds simple enough. But let me tell you...there is a HUGE difference between a party with a group of boys versus a party with a bunch of little girls! The noise level is insane!! Granted your gonna have your home turned upside down either way but it's the noise that gets you. I just wasn't prepared! Keep in mind that I spend most of my days at home with my two little girls so when they play it's pretty quiet (I said play...when they fight it's different! the squeals can be deafening! lol). When girls play its baby dolls and tea parties. We sit, and talk, pour tea, twirl around and cuddle. With boys...it's WAR! I mean full out running thru the house with guns and swords in hand shooting and swatting at anything and everything in their path and yelling the entire time! Just typing this makes me break into a sweat! I'm a girly girl by nature so the quiet babydoll playing is more my speed. I think Hayden is so used to being outnumbered and he plays pretty quietly when he's with the girls...but throw another boy or two into the mix and he transforms into a loud sword yielding pirate! All in all it was a great party and it was worth the busted eardrums, loss of my sanity, and the tornado tossed home just to see the smile on my little boy's face! Happy 7th birthday Hayden! Mommy loves you!
Happy birthday to your big boy!
