Simple & Sweet Holiday Treat

Do you need a last minute treat to take to your holiday gathering? Try this easy peasy Peppermint Bark. All you need is one 12 oz package of white chocolate chips and 8 candy canes or a couple handfuls of peppermint candies!

Place 7-8 candy canes into a ziploc bag and hammer lightly with a rolling pin until you have small candy pieces. Be careful not to crush the candy into a powder!

Place candy pieces into a dish and set aside.

Pour one 12 oz package of white chocolate chips into a microwave safe bowl. Microwave on 50% power for 1 minute strring halfway through. Continue microwaving in 10-15 second intervals until chocolate is completely melted. Stir until creamy.

Pour melted chocolate onto cookie sheet lined with wax paper. Using a spoon or spatula spread the candy out into a consistent thickness.

Sprinkle peppermint pieces over the white chocolate and lightly press them in.

Place tray in refrigerator for 20 minutes or until chocolate is completely firm.

Remove firm candy from refrigerator and break into pieces. Serve on a pretty platter and ENJOY!

If you have more time you can fancy this dish up by adding a layer of dark chocolate to your cookie sheet prior to pouring your white chocolate. Make sure you allow your dark chocolate layer to harden before adding the white chocolate. If you really want a peppermint taste you can add a few drops of peppermint extract to your white chocolate after melting. Or, try adding red and green sliced gumdrops instead of peppermint candy to the top of your bark! Be creative and have fun! Merry Christmas everyone!
