Decade Night w/ Friends

The MOPS group that I am a part of does a monthly "mom's night out" where we meet up and do something fun whether it be dinner at a restaurant or potluck at one of our homes. I really look forward to these nights b/c as a mom you just need to get out every once in a while and have fun with friends. Ya know?! Let the husbands take care of the kids for a few hours and eat candy and sweets, stay up past bedtime and watch lots of tv! I think the kids look forward to these nights almost as much as I do! He he!

Well last night was Decade Night!! Pick a decade and dress to impress! Leave it to me to wait until the last minute to try and throw something together. My first thought was to do the 80s but then I remembered some of the other girls who said they were doing that. Then I thought being a 60's hippie would be pretty easy to throw together. What I really wanted to do though was go for the 60's MOD look...until I realized I didn't have much to work white "go-go" boots. Luckily my sister had a white dress and I figured I'd just make up my own MOD and do the reverse. Instead of wearing black dress and white boots I did white dress and black boots. Works for me.

Anyway, the party was a ton of fun! We had 80's girls, 90's grunge, 70's prom (or a civil war era belle), a disco diva, plenty of hippies, a 50's sock hopper, and me. Apparently my outfit wasn't too far fetched b/c I had two friends comment that I looked like the girl from MOD Squad and from That Girl...60's tv shows that I've never actually seen. My outfit does look oddly similar to Peggy Lipton from Mod Squad! Whaddya think?

  1. Cute, Hana! You know, I was trying to arrange a MOPS night out to this fondue restaurant called the Melting Pot. They have ladies' night every few months, and some of the themes were 80's night and wear your most hideous bride's maid dress night. too fun!

  2. LOVE it!! That sounds like a lot of fun! I wish I lived by you!!
Hey I hope you check out my giveaway! Who knows you seem to be very lucky!
    Take Care,
