i ♥ faces: anything but a face

I've been participating in these challenges less and less but when I saw this week's challenge at i ♥ faces, "anything but a face", I knew that I had to enter this photo I took from Halle's Alice in Wonderland themed birthday party earlier this month. I just love the vibrant colors and her cute little painted fingernails! i ♥ faces: All About Babies

This weeks photo challenge at i ♥ faces is "all about babies." I love photographing babies, especially those that are fresh from the womb. I haven't had a newborn to photograph in a while so I went to the archives to choose an image to enter. I have quite a few favorites but I just love how this little guy looks like he curled himself up by the window to enjoy a nap and soak in the warmth from the sun. How sweet! i ♥ faces: Desserts

This week i ♥ faces is changing things up and the focus is desserts!! Yum! I love to photograph food especially desserts. Each time one of my children has a birthday I make it a point to take a really nice photograph of their birthday cake before we cut into it. I want to be able to look back on that photo and wish I had one more piece b/c it just looks sooo good! This one was from last year when Ella turned 1! Mmmmmm! It was just so cute and it tasted good too!

This week over at i ♥ faces the theme is "pink" in honor of breast cancer awareness! I was planning to do a photo of Ella w/ a pink lollipop but it just didn't happen. I went through my archives and selected this photo of Ella, her 1st birthday portrait! Can't get any "pinker" than this! Love it! This week the theme at i ♥ faces the theme is "blue". I immediatley knew the perfect photo! You have probably seen this one before (and in my new header above) but it's one of my favorites. i ♥ faces: Contemplative

It has been quite a while since I have participated in the weekly challenge over at i ♥ faces. I really just haven't had the time to think about it with the craziness of summer and the start of the new school year. However, when I happened to see this weeks theme "contemplative" I immediatley knew I had to enter. During our recent beach trip I captured this image of Ella making her first encounter with the ocean. She ran for the water but once she saw the surf moving towards her she hesitated. i ♥ faces: Feet Week

This week the theme over at i ♥ faces is "feet"! I haven't entered a photo in any of the last few challenges and since I had this photo on hand I thought I'd enter it since it fit the theme. This photo was taken with a p&s camera earlier this year before I got my dSLR. I think it came out great anyway! I love how Ella's toes are peeking out from underneath her tutu! How sweet! i ♥ faces: Let's Hear it for the Boys (kids entry)

This week the theme over at i ♥ faces is "BOYS"! That's right! Boys only this week, "NO GIRLS ALLOWED"! For this entry I wanted to recreate a photo I had done with my daughter and catch my silhouette in my son's eyes. I LOVE how it came out! Isn't he such a handsome little guy?! We've got a future heartbreaker on our hands with those big brown eyes, long lashes and gorgeous lips! And, to top it all off he has the sweetest, most tender heart. He is my firstborn, my only son, and he is the BEST big brother in the world! He adores his two little sisters and is always watching out for them! Those two girls are soooo lucky to have him!

Oops

Well, I got sidetracked and completely forgot to get my i ♥ faces entry in this week. They took a week off from the contest last week and I guess it's just thrown me all off. Here is the photo I was going to enter had I realized in time. The theme was "sepia toned"! I posted this photo in an XL size b/c the smaller size just doesn't give you the full effect. Hopefully I'll get another chance to enter this one!

i ♥ faces: Happy Birthday (kids entry)

Ok, so this week I had a hard time choosing a photo to enter at i ♥ faces since the theme is "Happy Birthday". This isn't something you can recreate (that would be CHEATING)so I had to pick from the birthday photos I already had. I had 3 that I wanted to post and since I just could NOT decide I picked from a hat and this one won. I think it's cute and is a perfect representation of a first birthday! i ♥ faces: Silhouettes

This week at i ♥ faces the theme is Silhouettes. This picture is one that I took several years back with my very first point & shoot 4megapixel Minolta digital camera. I love the sparkling water and my son's perfect silhouette. I loved this photo then and I still love it even though I've moved on to a much fancier dSLR! i ♥ faces: Blurb Book entry

This week i ♥ faces is doing something a bit different. This week they are asking you to submit your very best face photograph for a chance to be selected for the i ♥ faces Blurb book! I am entering the amateur category since I've only had my camera for 6 weeks and am still learning the ropes of photography. I am entering this photo because I love the warm glow and the beautiful catchlights in the eyes. Isn't that the focus of a face anyway? It's all about the eyes and I think this photo captures them beautifully! I'm also loving the golden highlights in her hair and her rosy pink lips. I know the competition will be stiff! i ♥ faces: Laughter

Here is my entry to this weeks i ♥ faces "laughter" photo contest. This is a shot I took of Ella laughing hysterically while watching her brother and sister act silly! She simply adores them and follows them everywhere! I just love her intoxicating laughter. You can't help but laugh yourself whenever you hear it! It's hilarious!
