A Sweet Surprise

Monday, October 13, 2008

This year I decided to enter some of my clothing creations into the Dixie Classic Fair in Winston Salem, NC. I figured I had a good shot at taking home a prize or two plus it would be fun! Well, I didn't get a chance to visit the fair while it was running and they don't notify you if you've won. Imagine my surprise when I showed up this morning to retrieve my entries and to find that I won not just one but FOUR prizes!! I only entered 3 pieces so how did I win 4 ribbons?!

I won 2nd prize for Childrens (1-3yrs) Everyday Dress, 1st prize for Childrens (1-3yrs) Dress-up Dress, and 1st prize for Childrens (1-3yrs) Playclothes. And then, out of all first place winners for the clothing dept I won the Grand Prize Judge's Choice for my 2-piece pant set!! I am so excited and proud of myself. A small monetary prize should be coming in the mail any day and I plan to buy something nice for myself! Go ME!!
