Payin' It Forward- a giveaway **CLOSED**

Last night we took the kids to the circus! The hubby has a Ringling Bros. connection who called in some tickets for us....how nice. Well, nothing in life is ever easy. We showed up at the "Will Call" ticket counter to pick up our tickets and guess what? They weren't there. Surprise, surprise! They checked every box to make sure they hadn't been mis-filed, called the box office manager to see if they had a record of the order....nothing. Well, the show wasn't until 7:30 and it was 6:15 so we spent the next hour calling our circus connection in CA trying to get in touch with her to figure out what was going on. We had just talked with her a few hours before so we knew she hadn't forgotten about it. Obviously someone on the coliseum end had dropped the ball. Long story short...the hubby tried her office and cell number about 20 times (and left 20 messages) but she just wasn't answering.

There was no way we could go home at this point without breaking the hearts of 2 of our 3 kids. Ella could care less...she was snuggled against me in her baby sling. So, we walked over to the main ticket booth to purchase tickets. As we were stepping up to the window, a young man approached us with 5 tickets in hand. We figured he was trying to sell them and we were about to ask "how much?" when he said.."I have these tickets that were given to me and I no longer need them so I'm just payin it forward. If you want them you can have them. Free. Do you want them?". We stood there for a moment trying to process what he said. Then we accepted with huge grins all over our faces! He was grinning just as huge. We thanked him repeatedly and told him what a blessing he was. God sure works in wonderous ways! He knew all along that our tickets would not be at the "will call" station and he placed that young man in our path on purpose. It was definitely no accident!

So, in that spirit, I would like to "pay it forward" to one of you. I made this adorable set of pink and blue minky heart washcloths just in time for Valentine's Day and would like to give them to one of you. All you have to do is leave a comment on this post. If you've ever had a "pay it forward" moment feel free to share. The "pay it forward" giveaway will close tonight, Feb 12th, at midnight. I will then randomly select a winner and announce it in tomorrow's post. If you win, all I ask is that you "pay it forward" to someone else!

  6. What a wonderful story! One time, when my husband and I were first married, we had an old, beat-up car and no money whatsoever. The car broke down on the side of the road one day, and we were trying to figure out what to do. I don't remember the exact problem, but it had to do with some kind hose. Along came a gentleman who just happened to sell the type of connector we needed. His trunk was full of them! Still, the problem wasn't that easy to fix, so he went to a nearby store and bought some tool that we needed...then he fixed our car...refused payment, and was on his way. We'll never forget the kindness of that stranger!

  7. moments like those make me realize there is hope for our world! my sister and i used to write favorite bible verses on a slips of paper and leave them in public places, on people's dashboards, and in library books, hoping that the Lord would use our humble efforts to minister to just the right person. we also like to pay the fare for the car behind us when we travel on the toll road around our town. it is exhilarating to make someone smile anonymously!

  8. Hana~I just LOVE this! I think we should all live our lives by traying to "pay it forward". Even if just by your attitude. People feed off of the way we react to certain situations. When people see us being calm, especially in stressful or scary times, they tend to react similarly. I love that this happened to you guys! You so deserved it! Have fun tomorrow night! I am going to add a pay it forward on my blog as well....www.thedarlingdukes.blogspot.com
