I've been wanting an old Victorian sofa or settee to use as a photography prop for a while now. I was thrilled last week when I saw one sitting out on a neighbor's driveway for sale. Nabbed it for $100 and he threw in a matching chair too! Awesome! Only problem is it's pretty dirty and I don't even think the old stains will come out. For now it's sitting out in my garage until I can figure out how to get it reupholstered without breaking the bank! Ugh. Would love to do it myself if I knew someone who could guide me along the way...still hunting for that person...or for someone who can do it inexpensively. It really is a beautiful piece of furniture though and I imagine it's got great stories to tell since I'm guessing it's been around since the 1800s! I would love to take it out into a field or a vineyard and do sessions on it! One day I will. For now I just pulled it out into the middle of my garage and put some seamless behind it and tried to coerce my girls to sit on it for a photo. Halle was game, Ella....uh, not so much! This first shot was worth it for me though! Happy Wednesday all!
PS...if you're local and can upholster furniture...send me a message. Would love to do a post on our reupholstering adventure!
