Sunday, July 18, 2010

Once again CSN Stores has made for a flawless shopping experience! If you are not familiar with them then I highly recommend you check out their 200+ stores. They carry everything you can possible imagine from toys to office furniture to cookware. If you need it or want it CSN Stores will have it...and for a great price and often free shipping!

CSN Stores provided me with a generous gift certificate to shop with them. I knew exactly what I wanted to get. When I went on my recent Busch Gardens trip we stayed at a Mariott hotel where they had a Waring Professional Belgian Waffle Iron available for guests to make their own waffles! I loved it and immediately knew I had to have one! I was thrilled, but not surprised, when I found it on the CSN Stores site!

It is incredibly easy to shop with CSN Stores. Checkout is very easy and you can pay securely with PayPal which gives you further peace of mind. Once I placed my order I had my new waffle maker on my doorstep in less than a week!...and the shipping on my item was free too! So Awesome!

I am so thrilled with my new Belgian waffle iron. The quality is outstanding and it couldn't be easier to use. Just mix up your batter, fill the provided cup to the fill line, pour into the iron, close and flip, and then wait until it beeps! You'll have perfectly cooked waffles EVERY time!

Exhibit A: Whole Wheat Blueberry Waffle with Whipped Cream and Fresh Strawberries

For this waffle I simply bought the premade Hungry Jack blueberry wheat waffle mix and added water, oil, and egg. Easy Peasy!

This morning however I changed thing up a bit.

Exhibit B: Carrot Cake Waffle w/ chopped Pecans, Topped with Fried Apples, Whipped Cream w/ a Drizzle of Maple Syrup (~heaven~)

Fabulous Carrot Cake Waffle Recipe

1 box carrot cake mix
1/2 cup chopped pecans or walnuts
1/3 cup water (or as needed)
2 Granny Smith apples
2 tablespoons butter
1/2 lemon, juiced
Whipped Cream

Prepare the cake mix according to package directions, adding the chopped nuts plus the additional water, making a thick, flowing batter.

Peel, core and dice the apples. Melt the butter in a saute pan and, when it stops foaming, add the apples and toss over medium heat. Cover, lower heat and cook until soft but still slightly crisp. Squeeze lemon juice over the apples.

Heat the waffle iron and spray the grids with nonstick vegetable spray. Use a 1/4 cup measure to pour a puddle of batter in the center of each grid. Cook the waffles until they are firm enough to remove from the waffle iron. Put on plates.

Spoon the hot apples over the waffles. Top with a dollop of whipped cream, drizzle with maple syrup! ENJOY!

Do you have any incredible waffle recipes? I'd love to try them out and post them on the blog! Send me an email with the fabulous details!! Happy Sunday!

A CSN Stores giftcard was provided to me free of charge compliments of CSN Stores. All opinions and thoughts expressed within this review are my own and are in no way influenced by anyone.
