Happy 10th Birthday Hayden: A Minecraft Celebration

This past weekend we celebrated Hayden's 10th birthday with a Minecraft themed celebration! He loves this indie game which is all about creativity and building. It includes a survival mode that requires players to find resources to help maintain their health and hunger while building this 3d world. I've tried to play it once and failed miserably...I couldn't do anything..not even catch a walking sheep, lol. Hayden, on the other hand, has mastered the art of it and is very skilled doing most anything in the game. Minecraft was a perfect fit for his 10th birthday party. It ended up being a sleepover (again) so we kept it small but they had a blast. We also took them out for an evening showing of the new movie Hotel Transylvania.  Here are a few details from the cake table. I kept things very minimal since it was such a small gathering but it definitely had the boys excited when they saw it. They ran back and forth to the table all night grabbing goodies..coal, bricks, gold and gemstones!
