I now have in my possession my sweet Nikon d90 dSLR! I am in love but I must admit that the learning curve going from a point & shoot to this is definitely a VERY steep one! There is so much to learn but I am confident and determined to catch on quickly! I skipped the automatic mode altogether and went straight to manual. I spent the early evening playing around with it while the kids were having fun outside. Here are a few of my faves. Keep in mind that these were my first photos and are completely unretouched, SOOC. Thanks to a sweet friend I have Photoshop coming soon and I look forward to using that to really making my photos POP!
Those look great!! You have some pretty cute subjects too! I love the shallow depth of field you got! What lens did you use? I've great things about the 50mm primes!
When I got my DSLR last month, I tried some of the dummy modes, but they just weren't great. So I jumped into manual too. I love it. I agree thought, it has been quite a learning curve! I'm wishing the weather would warm up outside (the ultimate in lighting!) soon so I can go practice full manual mode!

ReplyDeletejust let me know when you want the boys to be your guinea pigs! looks great!

These pictures are precious! Enjoy the new camera and have a great time!
ReplyDeleteI have a d90, too. I love it, but do NOT do it justice. I just don't know what I'm doing - I really need to take a class or something.
ReplyDeleteLove the 3rd and last photo. They are frame worthy. Good job!
